Sensei John started his training in American Jiu Jitsu in 2006.  Having previously trained in karate, John was attracted to American Jiu Jitsu because of its emphasis on practical self-defense.  John received his Instructor Certification in August 2013, achieved the rank Shodan in December 2014, and  Nidan in October 2018.   John teaches at Sei Shin Dojo on Fridays and runs his classes in a relaxed manner, which is great for students who are exhausted from working all week as well as for new people trying out their first class.
