Tara has passionately pursued her yoga journey for the last 15 years. After receiving her 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga certification through the Joschi Yoga Institute, a Yoga Alliance Registered school, she continued her studies with an advanced certificate in Anatomy and Movement from Leslie Kaminoff’s Yoga Anatomy program. As an avid meditator since 2007, she has also completed two ten-day Vipassana silent retreats in Massachusetts and Thailand.
Her experience in a variety of martial arts, running, biking, climbing and meditation has helped her create a conscious, alignment-oriented, vinyasa yoga flow. She teaches yoga to all types of learners by adding an element of "yoga writing" where students are able to engage in an inquiry about yoga poses and philosophy. Her yoga class is a bridge for those students who want to learn more about anatomy, than in an ordinary class.
During the day, Tara is a New York City Department of Education, Special Education Teacher to children on the autism spectrum. She has taught students from kindergarten to 12th grades. She has a Masters in Urban Special Education from Long Island University, Brooklyn.
For those students who want 1 on 1 instruction: Tara is available for individualized yoga practices, meditation, small groups, private parties for children and adults.
